THE MOOD SWINGS - RECESSIONISTA (Susstones)

Female led punky power-pop from Minneapolis. RIYL: The Dollyrots, The Eyeliners, The Excessories, The Muffs. Like The Dollyrots, The Mood Swings are just a few degrees off from the Disney Radio pop-rock sound and demographic. The title track would make a great song for a Target or TJ Maxx commercial, although I am not sure how sarcastic the message is, if at all. Track 8, "Nothing New", has that familiar riff heard in The Black Angels' "Black Grease" and possibly a Jane's Addiction song I am not able to recall the name of at this time. Overall, I bet The Mood Swings have a killer small-mid sized venue live sound and my experience with Recessionista would inspire me to see them perform atleast once.

I am very surprised that I didn't see The Mood Swings on the IPO Minneapolis 2007 roster because David Bash would be all of this.

Clicking >>HERE<< will give you a pop-up player where you can hear samples from Recessionista
