ANTI-SNOB RADAR: Indie Rock News From Around The World (08/07/09)
- Alternative Tentacles are now selling something that is not a CD, nor a DVD, nor a book or t-shirt. Listed on the very top of their "other" catalog page is the Barack Obama Commemorative Dildo. It comes in both blue and gold. I wanted to include a picture, but I just couldn't bring myself to place a picture of this ridiculous looking thing on my blog. See for yourself.
- The Manic Street Preachers will be starting their North American Tour on September 21st in Seattle at Neumos. Other cities include Los Angeles, Chicago, Detroit, Toronto, and New York. All dates, cities, and venues can be viewed at ManicStreetPreachers.com
- Following up on the new Jay Reatard record I wrote about Tuesday, there is now a music video exclusive on Myspace for the first single "Ain't Gonna Save Me".
- Reverend Horton Heat and YepRoc Records are giving away a Gretsch Electromatic Hollow Body Guitar to one lucky fan who pre-orders the deluxe edition of the Rev's new album Laughin' and Cryin'. Details about the new album, pre-ordering, and the guitar giveaway can be found by clicking the image below.

- Cooking Vinyl will be releasing a digital-only single from Brit-poppers Art Brut. "DC Comics and Chocolate Milkshake" will be available August 24th through Cooking Vinyl's online store. No word if the b-side, "Weird Science" is actually a cover of the famed Oingo Boingo soundtrack tune from the 80's.
