It Needed A Name, So Now We Have One

When customers at Hollywood Alley started asking what would taste good with the various tea-flavored vodkas we carry, the most common suggestion is lemonade. What we have then is an alcoholic version of the Arnold Palmer canned drink, which is a half & half mixture of tea and lemonade. I am sure thousands of bars everywhere are preparing this concoction as I write this. However, I haven't heard a name for this drink. I first suggested "Glenn Campbell", named after the famous country singer who now lives in Arizona and had been arrested in Phoenix for drunk driving and hit-and-run in 2003, however good buddy Jason Philip (d.i.m.) thought the name should reflect an actual professional golfer (although Glenn Campbell is active in the golf community and has hosted his own open tournaments throughout the 70s and 80s). It gave me the chance to use that KGB text Q & A service, which for 99 cents told me that John Daly is probably the professional golfer most known for his public intoxication. So there you have it; THE JOHN DALY - a shot of your favorite tea flavored vodka and lemonade over ice, served in a pint glass garnished with lemon.
