- This past October saw the release of Perfect as Cats: A Tribute To the Cure
, featuring Dandy Warhols, Bat For Lashes and 35 other indie artists covering a good chunk of the historical goth rock band's catalog on a 2 CD set. Now, American Laundromat Records have just released Just Like Heaven: A Tribute To The Cure. Although only one disc and not quite a star studded line-up, Just Like Heaven... features a star almost as big as the benefactors of the tribute itself: Frank Black, along with wife Violet Clark, under the duo pseudonym Grandy Duchy. - Speaking of Frank Black, expect the man to receive a producing credit on the yet to be titled, no-date-announced upcoming Art Brut album. The band has, however, announced European tour dates without a hint of them returning to their one time home of L.A. (Art Brut Official Website)
- Are you looking to join a vinyl club membership? FDH Records has some openings on their 100-member exclusive LP membership. Recent LP releases include the Destruction Unit/Black Sunday split and the one and only album from Jay Reatard synth project Terror Visions. - Windy City garage rockers The Goldstars' myspace page features 5 new tracks from their upcoming album.
- More than two decades after reaching the plateau that saw the mega international hit "Under The Milky Way", The Church have a busy 2009 ahead of them. Look for a new album (Untitled #23), two EPs, and a tour of their home country Australia. (The Church official website)

- Naked Raygun founder and frontman Jeff Pezzatti has announced plans to record an new album with his less- famous band The Bomb for No Idea Records. Long time Raygun friend and one-time Pegboy bassist J. Robbins (oh, yea, he was in Jawbox, Government Issue, and Burning Airlines as well) has been recruited to produce. (myspace blog for The Bomb)
- Critically acclaimed singer/songwriter Ari Shine has released a covers EP and has chosen CDBABY as it's distributor. Expect songs originally penned by Howard Jones and Eurythmics, among others. (CDBABY)

- Phantom Limbs have released their swan song CD/DVD on Alternative Tentacles. Titled Accept The Juice/Whole Loto Love, the set chronicles a band who, along with The Lost Sounds, start jumped the second generation synthpunk movement. The DVD has several live performances from various tours while the CD features rare tracks from 7" and compilation releases. - Former Epoxies singer Roxy Epoxy will be releasing an album will her new band The Rebound on March 10th. The album is titled Band-Aids on Bullet Holes and is available for preorder through Amazon (click image below). - The Chelsea Smiles have filled their vacant guitarist position. RJ Ronquillo, who has done studio work with world renowned artists ranging from Santana to DMX. RJ officially joined Todd Youth on stage January 12th at a Annie's Social Club in San Francisco and will be touring in support on Wednesday 13 in March throughout the U.K. (Chelsea Smiles Myspace)
- Check out the poster for the upcoming Scion Rock Fest happening in Atlanta February 28th. I am not one for corporate sponsorship but it's great to see Scion brand themselves with some heavy indie rock when previously their efforts only related to hip hop and electronic dance. (Scion)

- Digital Leather will be releasing four different 7" singles from different labels in April; Look for "Power Surge" (FDH), "Lousy Manipulator" (Neat Neat Neat), "Fresh Secrets" (Red Lounge), and "Hurts So Bad" (Squoodge). As for a new full length, Digital Leather is keeping the record label in charge a secret. I am putting my money on Vice or maybe Matador. (Digital Leather Myspace)
